Opens its First One-Stop Information Centre at BC Mall
Hong Kong, March 13, 2008 – A permanent one-stop centre for travel information from 17 overseas destinations was inaugurated at Mongkok Bank Centre today. It is an information centre established first time in Hong Kong by ANTOR(HK) (The Association of National Tourist Office Representatives in Hong Kong).
At the opening ceremony held at the atrium of BC Mall, ANTOR(HK)’s Acting Chairman, Mr. Stanley Mok (General Manager of Macau Government Tourist Office) expressed the gratitude to Wing Lung Bank and Hong Yip Service Company Limited, the owner and management company of BC Mall, in providing the venue free of charge to set up the Information Centre.
“Not only that the users can access to a host of travel information form 17 world-wide tourist hot spots, the beauty is they can continue with their shopping at the 30 leading travel agencies at BC Mall”, added Mr. Mok.
In addition to providing information search service, ANTOR(HK) also plans to organize promotional activities such as road show, charity sales, travel talks and themed exhibitions etc at the Centre and the atrium of BC Mall.
The opening ceremony was well attended by a wide spectrum of guests from the travel industry, including Mr. Joseph Tung, Executive Director of Travel Industry Council. After the opening ceremony, ANTOR(HK) members and guests participated in a special World Kids’ Music performance, presented by Hong Kong Handbell Academy.
ANTOR(HK) was established on 1 July in 2006. It is a voluntary, non-profitable and non-political association, comprising local representatives of tourist organizations form 17 national or special administrative regions, including Australia, Britain, Finland, France, Germany, Guam, Hong Kong SAR, Indonesia, Korea, Macau SAR, Malaysia, Maldives, New Zealand, Singapore, the Philippines and Thailand as founding members.
